Long awaited update

Things have been crazy. Christmas was great, especially for Jonathan, he is still enjoying all his toys. He loves his drum set, we are thankful that the word "soft" is in his vocabulary base, though it only seems to work for a few seconds before he is at full volume again. He enjoys chatting with his new Elmo, and even gives him hugs. He has a new slide that he is pretty brave on as well.

We had a great morning, the rain had cleared so we decided to go to Disneyland for a little bit, as we were getting ready to leave it starting pouring rain! I guess it hadn't cleared after all! Thankfully we had brought the rain cover for Jonathan's stroller, Edith had a nice hooded winter jacket, I however had a somewhat thin fabric jacket on and got totally soaked.

Friday we hosted our young adult dinner at the corps, we had about 30 people there, it was a bit more work than I had anticipated but well worth it. Everyone seemed to have a good time, and as far as potlucks go it was very tasty! I made a carmel apple cheesecake...may have been my best ever! I also made a chocolate mouse cheesecake, didn't try it, but had good comments.

I am still trying to make time to get some videos posted, sorry for the delay.

Just kickin' it OLD SCHOOL

It is Christmas Eve, and we are just finishing off a long day. Jonathan was in a very playful mood tonight which was cool. He wanted to walk back and forth between Edith and me, occasionaly ducking around Chiquita as she ran through his path.

I am sure to have lots of video and pictures of tomorrow, as this will be the first Christmas that Jonathan will really be a big part of. Although he was spoiled last year, this year I think he will obviously have an appreciation for everything, especially ripping up the paper and playing with all the boxes that the toys came in!

Merry Christmas

Chilly California

Please keep Jonathan in your prayers he is 14 months and has his first real cold. It has been chilly, but along with that people everywhere are getting colds, figured it was only a matter of time before he got one himself.

Although he has sniffles, a cough, and a fever he is still active, just fussy.

Well Jonathan, Edith and I have been very busy with Christmas activities. We have been out looking at Christmas lights with young adults from the church, we went to the christmas play, done by Santa Ana but at LA Central this past Sunday, next Sunday is at our corps, and Tuesday we are going to see the Glory of Christmas. Somehwhere between all that we have been shopping and trying to get presents out in the mail....hope to get that done in the next 2 days or else I will be in trouble!

Jonathan is really starting to like other types of food outside of the gerber world, fruits, bread, pasta, even a chicken nugget, have all benn munched on by him, which is great considering a month ago he would just spit it back out.

He continues to grow and impress his mommy and daddy each day.

This is a photo taken at church of JD walking, shortly after this he was in the church and did a nose dive on the carpet, so if you see upcoming pictures of him with a mark on his nose....that's what happened.

jd eating spaghetti

First off you can see that Jonathan got a haircut. His mom did a great job trimming all his hair, doing her best to avoid giving him the bowl style look. Something that I know a lot of from my childhood photos!

Jonathan has reached the age where it seems he accomplishes something new everyday.

He can walk...well who knows how far, but all the way across the lawn I know that. Seems like he could just keep going and going if he wants to. Still getting his balance and footwork down, he seems to like dragging his feet every now and then. Reminds me of my dad always telling me "Pick up your feet boy!", ahh good times.

Big news in this picture, and I would have never thought that this would be BIG news, but it is. Jonathan decided to join us for dinner last night and eat some spaghetti noodles AND nibble on a bread stick. It was a great moment because he hasn't really enjoyed eating anything solid, in fact he has the habit of hurling after putting anything in his mouth that isn't gerber mush! So this was a cool and exciting night for two proud parents.
