Favorite Picture

As Chiquita is snoring away in her bed right now I saw that I hadn't put my favorite picture of her up on the blog.

It is sorta crazy when you see that we are only 33 days away from the due date. People are telling Edith that she looks like she is ready to give birth already, and with the heat I know she wouldn't mind that too much! It's been in the 90's which isn't cool in any sense of the word.

In the nursery picture below it is sorta hard to see, but on the changing table is a little brown dog. I am proud to say that this is a stuffed animal that I got when I was born, and now I can pass it onto my son!

My two babies

This was a quick ultrasound we did, asked them to snap a picture if they could. The top of his head is at the top right, down and two the left is his nose, then chin.

Chiquita keeps on growing, she loves to give kisses, play fetch, and be the best puppy pug in the world. Most of all she loves sleeping, as do I! Which I appreciate, she doesn't wake us up till it is time for work! Excellent.

Counting down...

33 weeks. WOW! The doctor visits are becoming more frequent, and the anticipation levels are rising.

The heat has been a pain this last week, and it looks like it isn't going to end soon. It just makes everything more difficult, you don't want to go out anywhere or do anything because it is just too hot. AND I'M TALKING ABOUT ME HERE!!!! JUST IMAGINE HOW EDITH FEELS! :)

Chiquita is doing well and continues to teach me new things, like not to panic over a day or two of vomit. With the baby, Edith gets to make all the calls on when it is time to "go to the doctor". I am sure I will be way too paranoid.

Good Preparation

Well it turns out that Chiquita is great preparation for a baby. Some lessons I have already learned.
-There is always something you don't have and need to buy
-Leaving the house in an adventure and requires multiple pieces of luggage.
-Everybody wants to say hello, if your in a rush..your in trouble
-Sleep is over rated
-Everybody poops
-Find a good vet....I mean doctor! :)

IT'S A GIRL

Shocking as it sounds, we have a baby girl. I am as surprised as you, Edith was even more shocked by the news. But there you have it we are having a girl. And her name is.....

CHIQUITA!!!!

I know it sounds crazy, but I have wanted a pug for a long time now. All of a sudden this puppy was available to us at a wonderful price and we just couldn't resist. So Chiquita is just short of two months old and is adorable. Obviously we see the challenges of having a puppy and a baby on the way but like I said, we just couldn't pass it up. Below are some pictures, maybe they will tell you why we couldn't let her get away.

FYI: WE ARE STILL HAVING A BOY

That's my boy!

We went to the doctors and had a normal check-up. The doctors assistant/nurse/whatever came in as usual and tried getting the heartbeat. This person is very nice but oddly she calls Edith "lady" instead of by her name, which just gets annoying, "Okay Lady", "This way Lady". Anyways....heartbeat was there, but not good reception, so she kept pushing around. All of a sudden my boy kicks her! Her response was "Well I guess he has had enough of me".

She then moved the heart monitor to another location and got a good strong heartbeat. But that's my boy! He also gets very grumpy if he hasn't eaten in awhile, just like his dad.

Sea World

Edith and I ended up taking a mini-vacation this past weekend and went down to Sea World. We had lunch with Shamu, really we sat right next to a pool and they had one of the killer whales swimming around for us. We fed the dolphins, always my favorite part, and we watched the penguins, which sadly reminded me of Happy Feet.

All is well, Edith is now 32 weeks, and we are getting ready for the baby to come whenever he wants. Been making sure we have the basics ready and prepared, the hospital paper work filled out, stuff like that.

The weather has been okay lately, not too hot considering how bad it seemed just a few weeks ago. But they say it is going to start warming up again, but lets hope they are wrong.
